Pixel Power presents virtualized automation and graphics for linear and non-linear services at IBC2019

Market leader delivers proven solutions from modular software on COTS hardware

Pixel Power a Rohde & Schwarz company, is a global master control, automation, branding, graphics and playout innovator helping broadcasters make the transition to an IP, software defined world with products and solutions that are virtualizable on premise, in a data centre or in the public cloud.

At IBC2019 the complete family of software defined creation, branding, master-control playout and automation solutions will be demonstrated to show how you can PRODUCE > BRAND > DELIVER > PROMOTE your content to greater audiences.

StreamMaster PRODUCE is a software defined production graphics engine.
Being designed from the ground up purely in software StreamMaster PRODUCE changes the game and delivers enormous power and flexibility by offering multi-channel and multi-user operation.

StreamMaster PRODUCE brings a fresh approach to graphics creation, production and delivery and sits alongside the existing StreamMaster BRAND and StreamMaster DELIVER systems, which bring proven software to the core requirements for channel branding, master control and integrated playout.

Located in Hall 7 Stand 7.A05 Pixel Power will be demonstrating the many solutions possible using the two recently introduced technology platforms, ‘StreamMaster Media Processing’ and ‘Gallium Workflow Orchestration’.
Pixel Power demonstrates that highly efficient game-changing workflows can be established today whilst supporting the user through a managed transition from SDI to IP and on to cloud based solutions.

Gallium PLAYOUT and StreamMaster DELIVER offer a powerful complete playout and automation platform with built in master control and built in sophisticated high-end branding and graphics that you would expect from a company like Pixel Power. Together this is proving to be the solution of choice for national and commercial broadcasters who are looking to invest in next generation future-proofed software for a modern playout platform.

Using Pixel Power technology broadcasters can create and deliver content to multiple platforms such as VOD, Catch-up and OTT and at NAB we will demonstrate how easy it is to prepare such assets using a singular workflow and one primary schedule to drive live channels, delayed channels and all the necessary assets for multi-platform output.
Equally applicable to linear and non-linear delivery, systems based on these technologies are already deployed at major broadcasters around the world. Each can be implemented in dedicated hardware on-premise, virtualized in a data center, or in the public cloud.

For the fourth year running Pixel Power will be demonstrating live master control switching and automation from the AWS cloud.

“This is a time of turbulence for our industry both corporately and with technology,” said James Gilbert, CEO of Pixel Power. “The reality is that IP is simply an enabler for the opportunities that software defined solutions offer. The broadcasters I talk to all emphasise the need to take it carefully, step-by-step, to ensure they do not suffer any enforced limitations to the way they work while at the same time gain the benefits that software defined solutions can deliver.”

“Customers are also seeing uncertainty, and real concern over the future of existing and legacy solutions,” Gilbert added. “Pixel Power has a solid, trusted relationship with household-name broadcasters all around the world and today broadcasters are turning to us to support them with agile and responsive, practical solutions. Now with the backing of a major parent in Rohde & Schwarz, Pixel Power is perfectly positioned to be the next solution for any broadcaster worldwide"

The software-defined nature of StreamMaster ensures it can be tailored to the user’s needs and as Pixel Power prepares for SMPTE ST2110 there is still a lot of life left in SDI.
StreamMaster is future proofed for this transition as demonstrated by the speedy deployment of other IP transports such as NewTek NDI.
