NOB SELECTS PIXEL POWER FOR FUTURE-PROOF GRAPHICS
Stand 7.138, IBC2006, Amsterdam, 8 September 2006: NOB
Cross Media Facilities has selected Pixel Power’s graphics solutions
for its expansion plans. The leading Netherlands playout facilitator
is installing four Clarity 300 single-channel SDI graphics devices
to increase 3D output and plans to add a fifth plus HD options as it
rolls out a further playout channel.
NOB’s Clarity installation marks a major shift from disparate,
single-function systems to a consolidated ‘all in one box’ approach
under automated control. Clarity 300, a high performance, single
channel SD character generator and still store, increases NOB’s 3D
capabilities for clients including NOS, which oversees the country’s
three national channels.
NOB, who purchased the Claritys from Dutch system integrator
Digital&Media Solutions BV, now plans to install an additional
Clarity 300 as it makes its transition to multiplex playout. Built
on the same technology as the entire Clarity family, the mid-range
Clarity 300 is easily upgradeable as the changing broadcast
environment demands.
“As broadcasters’ graphics evolve to 3D, and beyond to HD, so too
must playout facilities’ technology,” says NOB technical project
manager Paul Postmus. “Pixel Power offers the only graphics solution
that provides reliability, price-point and multiple layers of
functionality in a single channel with the ability to automate them
all. In addition, its architecture is the ideal platform for
expansion as we increase the number of our playout channels and
upgrade formats to HD over the next 18 months.”
“For smooth, effortless workflow, all elements of graphics must
be automatable, and we worked closely with NOB to ensure its
graphics solutions fit seamlessly within its technology suite,” says
Pixel Power managing director James Gilbert. “
