PIXEL POWER INTRODUCES NEW HD/SD SWITCHABLE CHARACTER GENERATOR

Single channel Clarity 3000 designed especially for master control and channel branding

April 24, 2006, NAB, Booth SU4359…Pixel Power Ltd. (www.pixelpower.com), Cambridge, England, today introduced and announced the immediate availability of Clarity 3000, a new single channel HD/SD switchable graphics system configurable with a mix of character generation, still store, DVE and painting tools along with optional video clip and audio capability.

The turnkey system offers the comfort and familiarity of the Windows user interface using a hybrid of dedicated graphics hardware and open platform PC technology. This assures compatibility with computer industry standards while the dedicated graphics hardware provides reliable, real-time performance.

The Clarity 3000 provides HD/SD SDI program and preview outputs each with key. Analog monitoring outputs are also provided. The preview output may optionally be configured as an independent channel, with preview available on the dual head VGA display.

The system input is configurable as video and key or two video inputs, allowing live 2D DVE of up to two HD sources. An additional pair of auxiliary inputs allow up to 4 squeezebacks in SD mode. This capability, combined with standard dual redundant power supplies and automatic fault sensing relay bypass, makes Clarity 3000 ideally suited to master control graphics insertion.

The optional video clip player for Clarity 3000 provides 2 streams of 4:2:2:4 video playback from an internal disk array.  HD Clips are stored using M-JPEG compression whilst SD clips can also be stored uncompressed. Clips can be imported from MOV, AVI, image sequences and MXF files, or captured in real-time from the HD/SD SDI input.

The Clarity 3000 may also be equipped with a powerful audio option, which provides recording and playback of 4 stereo pairs from internal storage, as well as de-embed, mixing, ducking and re-embed. This is ideal for automated voice-over insertion in a master control environment.
