PIXEL POWER ANNOUNCES MOS RUNDOWN MANAGER
Integrates with Pixel Power Control Centre and provides coordinated real-time playout of any number of Clarity CG channels live-to-air.
April 24, 2006, NAB, Las Vegas...
Pixel Power Ltd. (www.pixelpower.com), Cambridge, England, today announced the Pixel Power Rundown Manager, which integrates with the Pixel Power Control Centre to provide coordinated real-time playout of any number of Clarity graphics channels live-to-air.
Pixel Power also announced availability of the Pixel Power Control Centre Version 4, which implements major graphics workflow improvements for both MOS enabled and iNews ControlAir Newsrooms using its family of Clarity character generators and still stores.
The Pixel Power Control Centre implements a MOS gateway for seamless graphics workflow integration between newsroom systems and Clarity graphics devices. It maintains MOS rundowns and manages and builds the back-end graphic asset database used by the Pixel Newsroom ActiveX and Browser Web Client controls.
The Pixel Power Rundown Manager client integrates with the Pixel Power Control Centre to provide manual playout control of multiple Clarity channels live-to-air. Running order modifications and Clarity channel status changes (for example, availability of graphics assets) are instantly reflected in the rundown manager playlist display.
Pixel Power offers ActiveX controls for iNews and ENPS desktops, allowing journalists to create and modify templated graphics with full resolution WYSIWYG preview capability. Using the sophisticated search tools, stills and character generator templates can be retrieved and filled with text or images. The graphic can then be dragged and dropped into the story by the journalist, becoming automatically available for playout on the Clarity graphics system.
The Pixel Browser Web Client uses ASP technology to give standard desktop web browser access to a graphic asset database throughout a facility with no licensing restrictions. The web-based viewer allows SQL search and display of text and picture information and also includes library management functions such as rename, renumber and delete. The database is maintained automatically by the Pixel Power Control Centre and includes user customizable fields and proxy browse images.
James Gilbert, President of Pixel Power Inc., states, "The Pixel Power Rundown Manager completes our family of automated MOS newsroom graphics workflow tools, providing simple real-time control of multiple graphics channels in a newscast. The improvements to the Pixel Power Control Centre will benefit our large installed base of Clarity newsroom users as well as new customers”.
