Senior Software Developer - Gallium Development Team
The Role
A position is available within the Gallium development team for a Senior Software Developer to work on the future development of this core company product.
To succeed in this role you will extensive hands on software development experience within a fast-paced, professional development environment.
Key Requirements:
- Significant development experience using .NET (including version 4.0), C#, WCF to deliver complex multi-threaded solutions, developing using Visual Studio 2008 and/or Visual Studio 2010
- Experience of databases including the design and use of stored procedures and indexes. (Preferably SQL Server 2005 & 2008)
- Experience of Visual Studio 2010 and WPF would be an advantage
- Understanding of multi user client server architectures and their design challenges
- Ability to deliver well architected, high quality, tested code within an agreed timescale and, when required, under pressure
- Able to understand complex problems from the user's perspective and then act on the information available to architect and implement a capable, reliable solution
- Sound knowledge of software engineering principles
- Excellent communication skills (both oral and written) together with the ability to articulate creative solutions to the rest of the team
- Able to embrace new technologies but pragmatic enough to only use them when appropriate
- Ability to understand the ethos of a high value product company
In addition you will have a degree in computer science/engineering and be highly motivated with a professional approach to work. You will be able to work independently with the minimum of supervision whilst still being a team player and knowing when to seek advice. A willingness to travel both within the UK and abroad to work on-site with clients would be an advantage.
