Windows Device Driver/Embedded Software Developer The Role
As a member of our core product development team you will be working on the more technical aspects of the next generation of our established range of broadcast platforms typically involving the development of Windows device drivers and software for other embedded aspects of the product platforms.
There is also an opportunity to work on real time processing of Video and Audio including inter CPU communications and hardware interfacing all in a true real-time multi-tasking, multi-threading environment running on multiple cores under Windows.
This role offers a huge variety of technical challenges and requires a willingness to work on many diverse aspects of the platform technology and a pragmatic approach to delivering high quality code at all stages of the product lifecycle.
The Requirements
- C programming essential, C++ highly desirable, an appreciation of assembler on any target essential
- Windows/Linux driver experience desirable. Strong embedded real-time system skills on an industrial embedded target essential
- Ability to provide sensible, reliable & pragmatic solutions to problems, regardless of target/OS and complexity of code base
- Real time multi tasking/threading environment
- Quick learner and an ability to understand the bigger picture
- Excellent communication skills, oral and written e.g. to be able to articulate creative solutions to the team.
- Ability to maintain quality when the pressure is on
- Self motivated
- Team player
- Electronics or Computer Science degree
