PIXEL POWER ANNOUNCES NEW STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIP WITH TEXT-TO-TV SPECIALISTS
SIREN
Txt2TV services provide a new revenue stream for the broadcaster / producer
April 18, 2005, NAB, Booth SU7132…
Pixel Power Ltd. (www.pixelpower.com), Cambridge, England, today announced a new strategic
partnership with text-to-TV (“Txt2TV”) specialists Siren World Wide Ltd (www.siren.tv).
Siren, the London-based participation TV agency, is the one of the world’s leading
providers of SMS TV services, having worked on all the major reality TV formats over the
past 3 years, most notably Big Brother, Pop Idol and X-Factor.
Txt2TV services are typically presented as a graphical overlay and are designed to encourage
viewer participation with the program, adding to the overall entertainment experience, building
loyalty and providing a new revenue stream for the broadcaster/producer.
Siren has recently taken a decision to adopt the Clarity graphics system as its platform
of choice. Siren’s Chief Executive, Chris Pressley explains:
“We’ve spent a great deal of time over the past few months looking for the
right broadcast graphics platform and have chosen to work with Clarity. The Clarity system
is extremely sophisticated yet easy to work with and this together with the planned developments
in 3D capability made it the right choice for us”.
The partnership sees the companies collaborating on a worldwide roll-out of Siren’s
Txt2TV applications. Pixel Power’s CEO James Gilbert sees strong potential in the
partnership:
“Pixel Power’s strength and experience in broadcast graphics and Siren’s
creative and technical expertise in Txt2TV solutions is a very powerful combination. We
are delighted to include Siren on our roster of application partners and look forward to
a highly successful partnership”.
The initial focus for the venture is on music and youth channels in the US, Europe and
the Far East.
