Pixel Power Enables Remote Control of Broadcast Graphics with New PPMC Software
Easy-to-Use Interface Enables Broadcasters to Manage Graphics from Any Location
April 16, 2009. BURBANK, Calif.- Pixel Power, a leading provider of broadcast graphics systems, today introduced Pixel Power Management Console (PPMC) – a sophisticated Windows-hosted application that provides remote configuration, management and operational control of any Pixel Power graphics system.
PPMC facilitates a wide variety of flexible workflow configurations for broadcasters, including the establishment of centralized graphics hubs that create and update graphics for distributed stations and affiliates. PPMC will be on display at NAB 2009, Las Vegas Convention Center, in Booth SU10012.
“In today’s highly automated broadcast operations, there is tremendous interest in the ability to control critical functions centrally and often from afar,” said Pixel Power Inc. CEO Pete Challinger. “Pixel Power Management Console was purpose built to enable our customers to customize and streamline their workflow to best suit their efficiency goals.”
PPMC can be deployed on any Windows-compatible PC to provide control via standard IP networks of any Pixel Power graphics systems located on a local or wide area network. PPMC controls all configurations of Pixel Power BrandMaster™ branding switchers for master control, Clarity™ graphics systems and LogoVision™ graphics playout and branding systems. It also provides support for applications such as Pixel Promo.
PPMC makes it easy for the operator to see remote machines in a fully customizable graphical user interface that shows templates, preview and program windows, air status and operational controls. The operator can see all of the content and templates stored on the remote machine. Templates can be completed remotely by the operator or populated by automated feeds. Remote operators can create new graphics pages and templates using a networked Clarity graphics system or Pixel Power’s offline software for standards PCs, Pixel Prep. These additions can then be pushed out to the remote machine(s) for playout.
Operators can create groups of remote machines at multiple locations to simultaneously publish content and to play pages to air. PPMC provides manual playout control of graphic layers including the ability to add/remove layers, trigger custom animations and edit template fields such as text, static/animated logos and clips. PPMC is available immediately.
